Frequently Asked Questions About the In-network Insurance Direct Billing
What is Insurance Direct Billing?
Direct billing is an arrangement between a health insurance service provider and a medical facility (hospital, clinic, or other facility) in which an insured’s bill for rendered medical services is sent directly to the provider for processing.
Direct billing eases your financial stress and saves you from gathering and submitting claim paperwork.
Direct billing does NOT guarantee full coverage. Providers that offer direct billing will only submit claims for payment; they do not determine what your insurance plan covers. If your plan does not cover certain charges, the provider may bill you directly. Additionally, if we have already made a payment on your behalf, MSH may reach out to you to collect any outstanding balance.
How to seek medical treatment from an in-network direct billing provider?
We created the MSH Direct Billing Network to make your medical visits easier by connecting you with trusted public and private hospitals and clinics for quality care.
When you visit a doctor, you can choose one of our network providers to enjoy the seamless convenience of direct billing.
What is an Outstanding Balance?
An Outstanding Balance refers to medical expenses incurred from a direct billing provider that your insurance does not cover. If MSH has already paid these costs on your behalf, you will receive an email notification from MSH China prompting you to settle the balance.
How can you manage an outstanding balance?
If you have no objections to the outstanding balance, please pay as instructed in the notification email or through MSH Online Services. If you do have an objection, contact your dedicated customer service team for assistance.
