MSH CHINA Takes Center Stage at the 2022 CIIE Live Broadcast
On November 9th, at the 5th China International Import Expo (hereinafter referred to as "CIIE") in 2022, MSH, a high-end health insurance service provider, was invited to introduce the integration and innovation path of high-end health insurance services in China at the North Bund venue's live broadcast room.
As one of the regional headquarters of multinational companies recognized by the Shanghai Municipal Government, Ms. Sun Jianle, the Medical and Health Director of MSH, said during the live broadcast that over the past two decades, the growth of MSH in China as the Asia-Pacific headquarters of a multinational corporation has not relied solely on advanced business models. Instead, it has benefited more from the dual blessings of our country's prosperity and good timing over the past 20 years, as well as the open and inclusive business environment in China. This is the fertile ground that allows a multinational corporation to truly take root, grow, and surpass its origins.
Rooted in China and Serving the Local Community
The predecessor of high-end health insurance was actually International Private Medical Insurance (IPMI), which was originally a global medical protection provided by multinational companies for their employees stationed abroad. In China, due to the high coverage of this insurance—reaching up to several million or even tens of millions of RMB, the ability to reimburse for expensive imported drugs, such as the latest targeted cancer therapies, drugs exclusively approved for use in Hainan's Lecheng, and treatment costs at private medical institutions—along with the option to seek treatment at renowned foreign medical institutions, it has gradually evolved into what is now known as "high-end" health insurance.
With the improvement of living standards and the enhancement of awareness for protection among Chinese people, high-end medical insurance is no longer exclusive to multinational companies. More and more Chinese enterprises, management, professionals, and the middle class are no longer satisfied with basic medical environments. They yearn for a more comfortable medical experience, a greater variety of medical choices, more precise medical advice, and a more efficient medical process. MSH has acted in response and seized the momentum, answering the call to "comprehensively promote the construction of a healthy China and share a good life," and continuously innovating a variety of localized services that meet the national conditions and the needs of the Chinese people.
For over two decades, with no precedent to refer to in its localization process in China, MSH has taken the lead, transforming international medical insurance into high-end health insurance suitable for Chinese soil while providing basic services. It has pioneered many services—moving the service center to within the country to provide local accessible services; signing direct payment agreements with hospitals where MSH directly settles costs with the hospital on behalf of the client; initiating specialized case management for critically ill patients; and dispatching dedicated hospital representatives to public hospitals, among others.

In the past, to access better medical resources, people had to rely on connections, understand hospitals, and establish relationships with doctors, spending time and energy maintaining good relationships with medical professionals. From a sociological perspective, this incurred a hidden social cost. The emergence of high-end health insurance allows people to cover the previous significant social costs with a fixed commercial cost, which is a step forward for society.

In 2001, MSH established MSH (Shanghai) Corporate Services Co., Ltd. in Hongkou District, which also serves as the Asia-Pacific headquarters and operational center for MSH. Since then, resonating with the rapid development of China and seizing the opportunities of the times, MSH has set up offices in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, and Singapore. Additionally, it has established multiple service representative offices in Suzhou, Wuhan, Dalian, Hefei, Harbin, and Wenzhou, forming a professional service team of nearly 500 employees.
