7 Natural Ways To Prevent Mosquito Bites



Summer is one of the nicest season. You can finally enjoy sunny days, warmer weather but wherever you go there’s always this one tiny little buzzing noise: mosquitoes! The most common way to repel mosquitoes is by using synthetic and chemicals spray (DEET) which not all are recommended for babies and young children. 1. Use a fan

According to scientists, mosquitoes are terrible fliers. A little bit of wind can keep them off your skin. So if you want to avoid getting bitten outside, you can use one of these electric hand fans.




2. Lemon eucalyptus oil

Lemon eucalyptus is a tree. Oil from the leaves is applied to the skin as a medicine and insect repellent.  According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the lemon eucalyptus is as effective as synthetic mosquito repellent and is 100% natural. A recent study showed that lemon eucalyptus oil offers protection for up to 12 hours. Haven’t been approved for kids younger than three years old.




3. Lavender oil

Crushed lavender flowers produce an oil and fragrance that can repel mosquitoes. Moreover lavender has analgesic, anti-fungal, and antiseptic attributes. This means that besides preventing mosquito bites, it can also calm and appease the skin.

Drop some lavender oil on a clean cloth and apply it to strategic areas of your body like ankles and arms.    

 

4. Citronella

Citronella oil is a natural essential oil obtained from the leaves and stems of various species of Cymbopogon (lemongrass). You can find this natural and effective ingredient in a great number of mosquito repellents. Candles made of citronella are also a good way to protect your skin from mosquito bites, outdoors it can offer up to 50% extra protection.
